Easter Beach Trip

WALT discover what kind of sea life we can find in our local beach.
WALT rescue a beached whale

What an amazing trip we had and beautiful weather to complete it. First, we went down to the beach to have a look at some beach life. In our groups, we drew a sketch of our findings. Then we rescued some stranded whales by following the instructions we have learnt beforehand. We worked very hard as a team. It was a great bonding time with others in our class and some of the parents. Thank you, teachers and parent helpers, for an awesome day!

Be the 'I' in KIND

Our class shared our ideas about the school values and how we should treat each other, so we can have an amazing year at school. Our handprint is like our signature and shows that we promise to encourage and be supportive of one another.

Phonics

We are learning to write and read 3,4 and 5 letter words independently.  We can robot the word so we hear the sounds.  In this activity we used stamps which had pictures and spaces to help us with the number of sounds we needed to write.

Pukeko clocks

In Term 3 Room 3 studied native birds. We learnt lots about the Pukeko and decided to make our own clock.

First we practiced drawing Pukeko birds in lots of different ways. We painted our bird and the background onto an old record.  Mrs Scott cut out the birds and glued them onto the record.
We added the clock hands and some batteries.
Check out the awesome clocks!

Beebots

Believe it or not this is Maths! Here we are learning the beginning stages of programming or algebra. We have to think about going forwards, backwards and sideways. It is quite tricky, as we need to count ahead how many moves we want our robot to take and in what direction. Then we have to programme that in. It was challenging and a lot of fun!

Making Music

The librarians came from Pakuranga library to read to us and do some dancing. They brought colourful scarves and we moved in time to the music and followed the actions. We had to listen carefully to the directions in the songs.
